ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Asikuzzaman, the founder of the Initiative for Coastal Development (ICD), establishedthe  organi- zation in 2018 after completing his B.A. (Hons) and M.A. from University of Dhaka. Initially focus- ing on the development of Tiger Widows and the Munda community in Koyra Upazila, Khulna, his efforts gained widespread attention through mainstream and social media, leading to increased support from both national and international donors. Consequently, ICD has effectively provided assistance in education, health, employment, rehabilitation, access to drinking water, Iftar and Qurbani programs, sanitation, youth skill development, and awareness initiatives for the under- privileged people of Khulna and Satkhira Districts.
